Something in english about Spain
We are enjoying our four week holiday in Altea, Spain. Nice weather, good food, pretty views and pool on the roof.
Have rented an appartement from a Swedish owner, found it on internet-ads.
Partly seaviews from our balcony, morning sun. On the roof there is a small pool to be used, we seem to be the only ones in the building, to do so.
Husband likes to get wet, but I prefer to sit in shadow with my knitting, something to keep everyone happy.
The town Altea, is not that overexploited as the much bigger neighbor, Benidorm (5 kilometers away).
There is an older part, with the church at the top, with many pittoresque lanes and all of the houses are white.
A small square at the top as well as the church and a buzzling nightlife at all the restaurants and cafés.
At the view-point nearby, you can see the "tragic" sky-scrapers of Benidorm. In my opinion a great shame and so totally "misplaced".
All this area is surrounded by quite high mountains and you can visit a very beatiful waterfall, not far from here or Guadalest "castle", high up on a cliff, one of Spains most visited sights by tourists.
Sandy beaches there are a few as well, for examlpe Calpe, Benidorm and further south Guardamar/La Mata.

...and night.
Enjoying the views (minus the "litter", far back in the right corner, Benidorm)
The food is not bad either.......
and husband is very happy with his "cerveza".
